Innocent Youth

I was born in a place where your imagination could run wild. Full of good friends and good food.

Verse One
Going home on vacation to the town where I was born
Surrounded by the hay fields, cows and the corn
There’s a place on South Main Street
Where the gods must of lived
I walked through those gardens when I was a kid

Verse Two
I remember the good times and the hot summer nights
The kids curzin the circuit on the Fourth of July
When I think about Heaven, I look in the back of my brain
I envision Flag City on a clear blue day

Chorus
Now you know I’m no Tell Taylor

But my story rings in true
It’s just the way things are in a peaceful city
On a beautiful day
When you’re just an innocent youth

Verse Three
Pick up some Hamburgs at Wilson’s
Take them out to the park
You’re always at home
When it’s in your heart
